The logical step for getting a cheap tablet PC (the price was always the problem with this devices) is to get a netbook and convert it into a touch tablet. All major manufacturers seem to embrace this idea, so did ASUS, which announce a few weeks ago the ASUS Eee PC T91MT netbook tablet, a product which is now available on Amazon.com, for a not so low price of 472 $, a whole 200 $ more than a ‘regular’ nebook, but that’s the price to pay for a rotating screen, a touchscreen layer and a stylus.

Besides the price, the ASUS Eee PC T91MT is a pretty solid netbook tablet, so let’s see the main features:

    • 8.9-Inch Touch LED backlit LCD Display
    • Intel Atom Z520 CPU running at 1.33GHz
    • 32GB Solid State Drive + 500GB Free Eee Storage
    • 1GB of DDR2 RAM, 1 Slot, 2GB Max
    • Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bit) OS
    • estimated 5 hours battery life

From what I see it’s a little bit downsized netbook, a move needed to lower the dimensions, a must for a device you carry with you on a meeting or walk around with of folded and need to write on it with the other hand. I hope people will find the price ‘accommodating’ as it’s pretty much double the price of a 9 inch netbook.
