Guess what Asus, the creator of netbook concept is doing right now? I won’t let you guess, it’s working on a cheap tablet EEE PC (maybe called EEE Pad). Everything is in rumor stage wight now, but it seems plausible for them to work on a cheap tablet PC alternative.

The best guess right now is that we won’t see a convertible tablet netbook but more like a tablet/slate, with no physical keyboard. That’s not bad, as it helps keep the weight down and makes it slimmer. Probably we’ll see an Atom CPU inside and a 7-10 inch touch screen.
I expect them to bring the Eee PC Touch UI interface to make things more manageable when it comes to basic tasks. Given the Atom CPU we’ll be looking at a few hours of battery life, which will give the Apple Tablet a hard slap, not to mention the price, which will be around 2-3 times smaller.

Will it be called ASUS EEE Pad?
