Archos is one manufacturer known for its multimedia players (MP3, MP4 and PMP) but they also have a line of products that resemble PCs as configuration. Now that tablets are the trend it seems normal for Archos to release slate type devices. They have the Archos 7 (a 7 inch tablet) running a proprietary version of Linux, but there are rumors about an Android powered Archos 7 tablet that will cost just 180 EUROS (approximately 250$).
The specs are still not officially announced, but rumors say it will have a 800 x 480 pixels screen, 8 GB internal storage in the cheapest version (mass storage capable), a webcam plus microphone for conferencing and will play pretty much any type of file you throw at it. As always AllTouchTablet will keep you updated on this manner.
