We first heard about Apple’s plans to launch a new type of product, the touch tablet, in 2009, but rumors say that the project was in development since 2003. This doesn’t means that the engineers were lazy, but the fact that Steve Jobs and Apple had problems finding out what to do with this new product, where to place it and wether people needed it or not.

    Another big problem was that of the price: back then components to make such a portable and stylish device were costly and lacked performance. 2009 came and things got into the right direction so we might even see this thing before Christmas.
