Acer is the second biggest systems manufacturer in the world and it’s natural to assume they are also working on a touch tablet device, not convertible tablets like the 1820p and 142op but slate type devices like the one Apple is supposed to announce two days from now.

Well, it seems that from supposition we got today to hard facts as the Jim Wong, the president of the IT products division, revealed some details about Acer’s plans for 2010, which include the launch of an app store (everyone is doing it, few are successful), an ebook reader which apparently won’t sell in US because of the tough competition and finally a touch tablet which has big chances to run Chrome OS, which Acer sees taking over 10% of the netbooks by the end of the year (but I doubt that).
