If you ask someone about China’s place in the IT&C worlds most people would say they’re the ones that copy everything that flies/swims/walks on this Earth. Well, not all Chinese companies are built the same and the difference that comes to my mind is Shenzhen Great Long Brother Industrial Co. which intends to sue Apple over iPad design because they’ve filed a patent for a similar device, P88 in China in May 2009, a tablet that was also introduced at IFA Berlin last year. They know that in US there’s little chance to win a trademark lawsuit over Apple iPad, but in if it will ever come to China it’s another story.

All in all it seems that there are also other manufacturers that come up with interesting ideas before Apple does. I’m not comparing the P88 with the iPad, but it’s clear to me that Apple didn’t invented the Slate tablet concept. Now, it’s interesting to see what Apple is going to do as they already pissed off Fujitsu.
