We've mentioned a few days ago the Hannspree 10 inch Android tablet, with a list of complete specs, but now is time to take a look at a short hands on preview video of this generic tablet. I say generic because, let's face it, all tablets look pretty much the same these days, with few minor differences. That doesn't mean the Hannspree offering is not a good deal thank to its enhanced multimedia capabilities (via the Tegra 2 graphic chip) and custom user interface (pictured in the video below)...
After being officially launched a few days ago, the Viewsonic ViewPad 7 got previewed during the IFA Berlin press days (just before the show opens for general public) and seems like a very decent product. The strong points mentioned are build quality, something we start to miss a lot those days in high tech gadgets. The supplied Android version is 2.2, as we've mentioned before, with no customizations. Viewsonic says that their 7 inch tablet will have full Google Marketplace support once it will...
On paper, the Gigabyte T1000P netvertible is one of the best around, hell, we've even put it in our list of the best netvertibles, despite its apparent problems. We are glad to find out that Gigabyte is preparing a successor, the T1005M, one that bears the new dual core Atom N550 chip, characterized by many as the first speedy low power netbook CPU. Speedy because it's almost twice as fast, while consuming less than twice the power, as the official TDP is 8.5 Watts (see a few benchmarks of Atom ...
After a few bits of rumors about the upcoming LG Optimus tablet we still don't have any hard info about the specs of the tablet. I don't know if this is because of LG being too quiet or because they didn't had anything to present yet. Certainly things are about to change in a few days when LG is expected to launch its slim slate at IFA Berlin 2010. There's some evident of this in the form of a blurry image presenting the LG Optimus on a stand. According to LG the tablet will be very slim and ...
Finally someone getting serious about tablets, and that someone is Archos, who just officially announced five new Android models: the 28, 32, 43, 70 an 101. If you're confused, don't be, as each model name stands for it's diagonal in inches, with one decimal, so the Archos 28 is 2.8 inches, Archos 32 is 3.2 inches, Archos 43 is 4.3 inches, Archos 70 is 7 inches and Archos 101 is 10.1 inches. All tablets are powered by Android 2.2 Froyo and feature a lot of multimedia functions, because that's...
If I were to define right now the perfect Android tablet I would definitely say: Android 2.2, Tegra 2 graphics chip, capacitive screen with multi touch and 7 to 10 inches in size. The tablet Hannspree just announced has all that plus a few aces down the sleeve to help it become an interesting choice for those hunting for an Android slate. Tegra 2 bring full HD 1080p video playback so plenty of media to watch out there when you travel. Mini HDMI ensures you can output that video to a big scree...
With just a few days off until IFA Berlin 2010 starts up, Viewsonic officially announced the ViewPad 7 (which we've talked about already), a 7 inch Android tablet running software version 2.2. Viewsonic prides itself with the full phone functionality of the ViewPad 7 (full SIM card also supported), but I have to question this, as I already know a 5 inch tablet is too big to act as a phone without a bluetooth headset, which is not offered by default with this tablet. Another thing we must ques...
Android tablets are starting to appear like mushrooms after rain (we can't buy them yet, but they're being announced at least). The latest is build by the unknown Rydeen company, who gave it the name gPad GCOM 701. In essence what we have here is a 7 inch Android tablet running on a Marvell Armada 166 series 800 MHz CPU. The big problem here is the screen, resistive in nature, with a 800 x 480 pixels resolution. We would have preferred a capacitive screen, but I guess when price is in question t...
The highly acclaimed Samsung Galaxy TAB isn't here yet and we are already receiving a lot of leaks about accessories and features of this 7 inch tablet, set to launch during IFA Berlin. We've told you yesterday about some of the pricey accessories that will be available for Samsung Galaxy TAB, so now it's time to take a look at the others from the pack. In the first few days from launch you'll be able to purchase the following: Bluetooth Pen that acts also as a bluetooth receiver and...
Korea is one of the most advanced countries when it comes to early adoption of high tech trends. It's the place where camera phones were a hit before they appeared in European and US markets. One of the biggest mobile operators there, KT, has announced they're gonna launch a 7 inch Android tablet, the KT Identity TAB, to promote their 4G WiBro data program. The tablet itself looks a little bit like the Samsung Galaxy TAB in both design and specs: 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, 8 GB internal m...
