The source for 2012 iPad, Android and tablet PC news, reviews and accessories guides
A lot of interest was shown towards cheap Android tablets since 2010, when the iPad dominated the tablet niche. People who couldn't afford the $500 Apple tablet have been looking for 100-200 dollars alternatives, and I have to say that today the offer is pretty rich, with some models being quite good when compared to the premium Android tablets (the ones selling for over 350-400 bucks). We even have here at AllTouchTablet a dedicated cheap tablets article updated regularly with models you can...
With approximately two weeks left from this year, Christmas shopping fever has hit all major retailers, so I thought of putting together a small guide for tablets, eReaders and accessories, in case you wish to make someone happy by gifting them such gadgets.I'll be linking to my previous posts a lot, but don't worry, as almost all of these articles are updated to reflect the changes that have taken place during the year. So let's not keep you waiting too much and check out what your gift opt...
One of the features of iOS 5 teased during the official presentation of the update is the split keyboard for iPad and iPad 2. It makes it very easy to type with your thumbs in landscape and portrait modes. Up until now for efficient typing you had to either place the iPad on your lap and try to touch type or hold it with one hand and type with the other.I almost forgot about this feature, as I try my best not to type too much on my iPad 2, but it's a feature worth trying by those who type a...
In the past weeks I've received lots of comments and answered more comments from people wanting to know more about tablets. This is how I got the idea to install a forum on AllTouchTablet. YPEQWYDURAUUStarting with today the Forums are live. I've only managed to add a few topics for further discussions based on current tablets, so I'm counting on you to fill the forum with your questions and, hopefully, answers. Feel free to suggest new topics. I'll be assigning them to the proper category ...
We have discussed this many times: Windows 7 is a great OS, but not what you'd expect for a touch tablet, that's why the best slates out there are the ones powered by iOS and Android. That doesn't mean they're perfect, as contrary to them, the complexity of Windows 7 is what some people are looking for, and when that's the only alternative things happen: Justin Campana, a known Windows modder, has posted a tutorial about how you can convert the Windows 7 user interface to make it a lot more fin...
Let's say you've decided you like the 1st gen iPad and the upgrade to iPad 2 is not worth the money, but you do like the Smart Cover case so much that you want it to work with your 'old' tablet. Apparently there's no way to win from this situation, you might think, without getting $499 for the new iPad 2. I'm happy to challenge that (as a Gillette TV ad says), so here's a guide found on Dan Provost's site, a Russian guy who figured out a way to make that Smart Case for iPad 2 to work on the olde...
Oh, it's already 2011! A lot of months have passed since my last revision of the Free eBook: The Ultimate Touch Tablet Guide. So it's February 2011 and revision 1.2 comes along. It was about time, as CES 2011 was one busy IT show for tablets because many exciting models were announced. But let's not jump to conclusions and see what's new in the rev 1.2 of The Ultimate Touch Tablet Guide. Because touch technologies haven't evolved in such a short period, I've just updated the Chapter about c...
Everyone is complaining that Microsoft Windows 7 based slate tablets are no match for iPad, and it's hard not to agree, especially since most products are presented by small Chinese companies nobody trusts. The only 'serious' models are the ASUS EEE Pad series, but we haven't seen them in stores, so we can't really say if they're good for something. The thing is that Microsoft is not really to blame here, especially since they've done a lot of effort to help manufacturers build the perfect table...
Oh, it's already May! That must mean I forgot to do the April update on my Free eBook: The Ultimate Touch Tablet Guide. Well, it's too late for that so we're jumping to May, where revision 1.1 comes along. After all not too much happened in April, just the iPad launched in stores and sold over 1.000.000 units in less than 30 days. But let's not jump to conclusions and see what's new in the rev 1.1 of The Ultimate Touch Tablet Guide. Because touch technologies haven't evolved in such a short p...
