We've talked extensively here about the ExoPC slate, one of the most interesting Windows 7 Atom powered tablets with a custom user interface (read on our interview with the company CTO). A few days ago we talked about ExoPC preorders, which apparently just went live on their forum (needs registration). A few changes need to be mentioned from what we knew back then: both models (32 and 64 GB model) received a speedier SanDisk P4 mini SSD drive that can read/write at approximately 160 MB/s.The...
Dell Streak is one of the few slate tablets that will appear this year and apparently is one of the coolest ones, some even saying it's what PDAs should have been 10 years ago. Anyway, the US launch of the Dell Streak is approaching the deadline and Dell posted a sign up form that will remind you when you can pre-order it.The delay of US launch versus Europe is not clear to me but I can speculate that Dell wanted to test the water first in good old Europe, or they wanted to strike a deal wit...
As with many Apple launches, the iPad was first shipped to US, the biggest market for the American manufacturer. Now we know when the rest of the world (or part of it) will get their hands on the iPad and how much it will cost there. Preorders have started today for the first batch of countries that will get the iPad on May 28th, with the second batch following sometime in July. Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK are the lucky ones, followed by Aust...
Christmas comes early this year, as Apple just begun shipping the iPads pre-ordered through its online store. It's a few days earlier than the anticipated April 3rd when the iPad goes on sale, so some people who preordered the little wonder will get it a few days in advance. The iPads are being delivered by UPS so also some of the guys who've preordered it might get it later than April 3rd thanks to the usual delays in shipment. You should be thankful if it gets to you in one piece! If you're...
I've been out a few days and the hell broke loose (kidding, of course): as anticipated Apple offers the iPad for preorder, with deliveries scheduled for April 3rd (or 5th for the zones in US when Saturday deliveries are a dream). Because everyone wants it, or so Apple hopes, you're limited to just two pieces per individual, but if you have a big family you might get over this limitation and make a few bucks on Ebay, right?Apple kept his word and prices are as announced on January 27th when t...
It's already accustomed for manufacturers to announce a product and launch it officially way before it is available for sale. The same stands for Apple's iPad, announced almost a month ago and which apparently will begin preorder in just a few days, on February 25th to be exact. First shipments are expected a month after that, around March 26th.I'm wondering if the same huge waiting line will form in front of big Apple Stores in US (it will only be available there at first, and no 3G version...
The logical step for getting a cheap tablet PC (the price was always the problem with this devices) is to get a netbook and convert it into a touch tablet. All major manufacturers seem to embrace this idea, so did ASUS, which announce a few weeks ago the ASUS Eee PC T91MT netbook tablet, a product which is now available on Amazon.com, for about 200 more than a 'regular' nebook, but that's the price to pay for a rotating screen, a touchscreen layer and a stylus.Besides the price, the ASUS Eee...
