Amazon made a lot of money over the Kindle, arguably the best eBook reader on market today, even if the iPad can also be used as an eReader and features its own book store. After the successful iPad launch Kindle sales were hurt a little bit, so it was expected that Amazon did something to counteract this and that something is now called Amazon Kindle DX Graphite, a cheaper DX with a different body color (guess how it's called) and a slightly lower price tag.Oh, and there's another differenc...
It's not the first time we talk about Toshiba's intentions to launch a touch tablet this year, but it's the first time we know a little bit more like the fact it's coming this month, with a big surprise: it's a dual screen 7 inch tablet running Windows on a Tegra chipset. That's more than we could hope: a big manufacturer, known for its innovation, producing a dual screen tablet. That's something we must see for ourselves before we get to conclusions. There are things to consider like pricing...
I guess you all follow the news from time to time scanning for Google related bits of info. Today it's time to take Chrome OS seriously, as the Google VP of product management spoke at Computex, telling the press that this Chrome browser based OS will launch officially sometime in autumn this year. Interestingly enough Google didn't comment on products availability, but I bet they're planning something with their partners. It would be madness to launch the new OS with no products specially tailo...
Remember when we've told you that the Dell Streak will launch in Europe this summer and then in the US, a few months later? It seems we were right as O2 announced the availability of Dell Streak Mini 5 tablet sometime in June.Interesting enough, Dell announced that later this year the update to Android 2.2 will be made available for Streak also, which means that at least for now you're covered when it comes to updates. What I don't like about this announcement is the lack of news about pr...
We've presented you a few months ago a MSI tablet prototype running Tegra 2 hardware, with speculated launch date sometime during Computex Taipei trade show and sub 500 $ price. All these info is now confirmed, except the Tegra platform, which was ditched in favor of Intel Menlow Zxx Atom CPUs. That puts the 10 inch tablet in the same league with other Atom powered slate tablets running Windows 7: the running slow league. Price will be under 500$ and we'll have features like 3G and WiFi, plus MS...
Remember the ExoPC slate we've presented quite a while ago and the interview we've conducted with the company's CTO, Jean-Baptiste Martinoli? It seems that the tablet is on track for September 7th launch and on features there's a plus consisting on Full HD video playback thanks to the Broadcom BCM70012 or Crystal HD chip which will be included in all models. The countries where ExoPC will be offered at first are US, Canada (the company is from here) and France. After that I suspect new market...
The fact that Samsung is working on its own touch tablet is nothing new, as we've covered the subject a few times here. We now almost know the name of the Samsung tablet, S-Pad, and the official launch date sometime in August. We also know that the S-Pad will be a 7 inch tablet with a Super AMOLED screen which will surely look gorgeous, if you can afford it, as those kind of screens are very expensive. The Samsung S-Pad will be powered by the Android OS and will feature things we're accustome...
Remember the Intel Convertible Classmate netbook tablet, with its full name CTL 2go Convertible Classmate PC NL2? We've presented it here and here on All Touch Tablet.com. Now it's shipping, with prices starting 499$.You might think it's a little too much for a netbook tablet, but price is not that bad considering it's a rugged tablet and we want extra protection for a gadget we know our kids will use, don't we?While it seems that a 599$ version with Windows 7 preinstalled and 32 GB SSD ...
Are you an iPad fan and at the same time don't live inside US? Tough luck, you won't get your tablet at the end of April, as expected, but the end of May, as Apple just announced they've postponed international official launch in stores by one month. Wait, things are getting better (for Apple), as the reason for the delay is the huge success of the iPad in United States where they've already sold 500.000 and demand is still strong, strong enough to exceed production capacity. And hear this la...
While I was occupied with the Easter bunny stuff Apple was busy launching it's iPad on April 3rd all over its US stores. Apparently it was a success, but that was to be expected since the media coverage of the Apple tablet was something bigger than anyone might have imagined a few months ago, when the first rumors started to appear. But let's not revive the past and take a look at what happened in the past two days since the iPad appeared officially for mortals like you and me. Below is a sho...
