Most tablets released this year have the same form factor: slate with ports on the side and maybe a few capacitive buttons for the Android OS/Windows 7 on the edges of the screen. Is really hard to distinguish models one from each other when looking from the front. Some brands put their big logo on the back, but that’s pretty much the only differentiating factor. There aren’t too many convertible netbook tablets on the market today (see the list of netvertibles here) and any new product is welcome to increase the options consumers have. The Swift i-Touch by DTK is what you would call a typical netbook tablet, with a 10 inch screen (no idea if it’s HD ready) and an Atom N450 CPU, helped by 1GB RAM (why not 2 GB is beyond my understanding), a 320 GB hard drive. Gigabyte T1000P netvertible shows up for preorder for 699$

I’m sure I’ve mentioned here once or twice the Gigabyte T1000 netvertible series, consisting of T1000P and T1000X models, both with similar configurations. Now that the dust has settled on the announcement news it’s time to get to the real moment consumers are waiting: availability of the Gigabyte T1000P, which just now surfaced on Amazon.com for a pretty steep 699$ price. It’s in preorder with availability starting July 1st. UPDATE: It’s really shipping and the stock is running low already. It seems that finally the long awaited ASUS EEE PC T101MT convertible netbook tablet is here. Viliv S7 mini convertible tablet: 799 grams of pure joy

Finally a product we haven’t talked about yet: the Viliv S7 convertible tablet. It’s not in the same league as the Asus EEE PC T101MT and Lenovo S10-3t, mainly because it features a smaller 7 inch screen with the same number of pixels (1024 x 600) as the two mentioned before. Gigabyte T1000P hands on at CeBIT

Gigabyte seems to be really into the convertible tablet race as they’ve displayed the T1000p netbook tablet at CeBIT and the first hands on had hit the web, of course. From initial impressions it seems we have a real deal here: chiclet keyboard (the best Gigabyte has put on a portable so far), nice resistive multitouch screen with good response, solid construction and a big 6 cell battery (56 Wh) which should be good for 7-8 hours of use. Also the interface on top of Windows 7 Starter seems a little more snappy than the one on the Asus T101MT. [...]
