I'm sure you're all waiting to get more info on the LG G-Slate tablet, the one made for T-Mobile, a tablet that sets itself apart from the competition because of the 8.9 inch form factor, wide aspect ratio screen and 3D recording and playback capabilities. And to make things even sweeter, the LG G-Slate starts at $529 with a two year contract on T-Mobile. This price point is $200 lower than the similar spec iPad 2 32 GB WiFi + 3G. Now that the official retails launch date is getting closer revi...
One of the new features that seems to catch on with mobile devices this year is 3D functionality, including recording and playback, as quite a few smartphones and the LG G-Slate tablet from LG have been announced to support this feature. I'm not saying that's good, or bad, but personally I don't believe in 3D with glasses: it's too inconvenient to use and consumers know that. And for a smartphone/tablet things are even worse since you have to carry around a pair of 3D glasses with you all the...
LG is one of the companies teasing its tablets a lot since the official announcement at CES 2011. The other company is Samsung. What do those two have in common? Well, the most important thing right now is that none of them was able to bring their G-Slate/Optimus Pad and the Galaxy TAB 10.1 to market, so teasers is all we get for now. We don't know the official retail debut of those two, but we know LG is pushing its tablet through various channels, teasing its 3D capabilities. The latest tea...
The only 3D tablet to date, the LG G-Slate, also known as Optimus Pad is nearing its launch date, and one the biggest mysteries out there is pricing. Apparently LG suggests a 700$ retail price, before any subsidies, which is 100 $ below the Motorola Xoom, a tablet with similar specs, but a slightly bigger screen (10 inch versus 8.9) and no 3D onboard (no 3D recording cameras and no 3D display). You can preorder the tablet right now, if you want, but there's no delivery date in sight apparently...
After so many rumors about the LG's G-Slate, also known as Optimus Pad, it's time to report the official version, the one we actually know stuff about. Naming hasn't change, nor the 3D recording/playback capabilities, the ones that set this 8.9 inch tablet apart. And it's a good thing, as most slates announced this year don't have any distinctive elements, or at least one that matters. So, let's see what the LG Optimus Pad (G-Slate for the T-Mobile model) is capable off. Let's start with the ...
LG was one of the brands that were rumored to be working on a tablet since last year (speculated names were Optimus and Optimus Pad), but at the beginning of this year LG showed off its G-Slate, built in collaboration with T-Mobile. One of the things that is supposed to make the LG tablet a success is the 3D recording and 3D playback capabilities (with 3D glasses, apparently). With the tablet soon to be released, early Spring being mentioned, there's not much LG can do to promote its Tegra ...
One of the most interesting tablets announced for 2011 is definitely the LG G-Slate, which will bring for the first time 3D capabilities to tablet users. It's not the good kind of 3D, the one without 3D glasses, but it's good enough if you want to experience 3D content occasionally. It will be even capable of 3D recordings, which is great considering there's not much 3D content available right now.Anyway, things start to add up, as the G-Slate is rumored to make an official appearance in Mar...
We've had a of rumors about the upcoming LG tablet but not a piece of solid info has surfaced till today, when T-Mobile published a few official pictures of the LG G-Slate tablet and even told us a few things about the hardware under the hood. One of the most important questions was the screen diagonal, which we now know it's 8.9 inches, just a tad smaller than the iPad. Couple this with the wide form factor (16:9) and you have a device that you could hold with one hand easier than you do wi...
