We’ve presented a while ago the EviGoup Paddle (called then simply “Pad’), a netbook slate running Windows 7, nothing too special. Most small manufacturers choose netbook hardware which is then ‘adjusted’ to a slate format. The Evigroup Paddle has one major inconvenient: it’s expensive, very expensive, even compared to the iPad, with prices ranging from $732 to $854. If you think about IT companies from France, the only ones coming to my mind are Lacie and Alcatel, but there are a handful of companies out there trying to get in front.
