Articles about convertible tablet

A convertible tablet is what you call a laptop with a rotating 180 degrees screen. A convertible tablet (or simply called “tablet PC”) can be used as a regular tablet or like a laptop. Convertible tablets need a strong screen hinge to allow for multiple rotations without breaking. Currently convertible tablets are surpassed in appeal only by slate tablets, but they are far better when it comes to working with them, offering no limits when it comes to computing power.

ASUS EEE PC T101mt convertible netbook tablet

I'm usually confused by Asus, one of the most prolific manufacturers when it comes to releasing new products at short intervals but in the case of tablet PCs they are quite slow as we only have word about T91MT (9 inch convertible netbook tablet) and the T101mt, a 10.1 inch model with upgraded netbook hardware: Pinetail Atom N450 CPU. The rest of the specs remain pretty mainstream: 1 GB RAM, 160 GB hard drive and Windows 7 Starter. There will also be a more high spec model with 2 GB RAM, a 320 G...

Viliv S10 Blate convertible tablet

Viliv is not a name you hear often when you talk about mobile devices but they intend to make a strong appearance from now on as they've launched at CES a new range of products from which the most interesting is the S10 Blade convertible tablet with 'classic' netbook hardware. We say classic configuration because  we have an Atom Z CPU (1.3 GHz), a swivel 10 inch screen (with 720p resolution), 1 GB RAM, 32 to 128 GB SSD storage (depending on configuration), Windows 7 OS and an estimated 10 h...

HP TouchSmart TM2: lots of pictures, impressions and hands-on

UPDATE: HP TM2 is now in stores. You can get one for as little as 881$.Not a long time ago I've told you about the HP TouchSmart TM2 convertible tablet (it's not completely true, not a long time ago, but yesterday). I had no pictures and little info about it then but now press images and further specs become available as Engadget managed to get their hands on one sample. It seems that the build quality is great, together with the swivel mechanism of the screen, aluminum case and chiclet k...

Packard Bell is also planning convertible netbooks

Touch tablet niche and ebook readers seem to be the 'next thing' in 2010, and pretty much every big manufacturers is jumping into the wagon. Packard Bell recently announced that it will bring to market next year a color eBook reader and a convertible netbook tablet (just like the Acer 1420p and 1820p models), a 11.6 inch model. Unfortunately there's not much more to say about those two models, but I guess it reinforces the belief that Apple is planning a tablet for next year. It seems there's to...

GIGABYTE TouchNote T1028, an expensive 10 inch netbook tablet

As expected the idea of a cheap netbook transformed into a Tablet PC has caught manufacturer's attention and after Acer and ASUS it's Gigabyte's turn to launch it's own 10 inch netbook with a rotating touch screen, but what's out of the ordinary here is the price: Amazon. Ouch. What were they thinking? It's too much, twice more than a good netbook. Wasn't the whole idea of a netbook tablet to lower prices? Well, I guess they know better what they wand so let's go and check the specs of the GI...

ASUS Eee PC T91MT multitouch netbook is here

What's the reason to have a 9-10 inch touchscreen at your disposal and not benefit from multitouch technology. ASUS seems to agree with us so it launched recently the ASUS Eee PC T91MT multitouch netbook, based on the T91 convertible netbook tablet. As any respectable netbook tablet it is lightweight (under 1 kilo or 0.96 to be exact) and it's secure enough to not need special care thanks to the 32 GB SSD drive mounted inside it, complemented by 500 GB of online storage space on the ASUS WebS...

Acer Aspire Timeline 1820PT touch tablet shows up

Windows 7 is getting rapidly into market as more and more devices are adopting the new OS, plus is a great opportunity for manufacturers to renew their product line with models that support the seventh iteration of Microsoft's OS. The latest touch convertible tablet that surfaced the web is the Acer Aspire Timeline 1820PT (it might be a mistake as Aspire and Timeline are two different product lines but we'll have to wait for confirmation). The 1820PT is a variant of the Acer 1820p which we've pr...
