ASUS hit a jackpot with the Transformer series tablets. Up until now we have the EEE Pad Transformer TF101 (1st gen), the TF201 Prime, the TF700T with Full HD display (announced at CES 2012) and since today we've got some leaked photos of the TF300T model.Since this is a leak with two photos I don't know what more to tell you about this new model. My guess is that the ASUS EEE Pad Transformer TF300T, if indeed exists, it's a 7 inch model, but don't know anything about the docking keyboard (t...
There were quite a few rumors about ASUS' tablet plans for 2012, but only now, a few days before CES, the company started revealing its roadmap and estimates for this year's tablet market.Let's start with the 3G enabled Transformer Prime, a tablet ASUS said a few weeks ago it has no intention to manufacture. It seems management changed its opinion on this, and a Transformer Prime capable of connecting to GSM/UMTS/CDMA/EVDO/LTE/WiMax, or whichever networks Asus decides to support (not known a...
One of the most popular articles here on AllTouchTablet is the review of the ASUS EEE PC T101MT convertible netbook, dating back to 2010. The netvertible concept was derived from the need to marry a lightweight form factor with an affordable price.I can't say it was a success, as the offer was always limited and products lacked appeal due to poor performance, but now that ultrabooks are poised to replace netbooks I understand why Asus will be offering a convertible ultrabook in 2012, powere...
Remember the ASUS roadmap leak from Monday? We've unveiled that day ASUS' plans for the EEE Pad line in 2012, including two new unnamed Android devices and two Windows 8 tablets later that year. For the end of this year ASUS is preparing the Transformer Prime tablet, but what got to my ears is that one of the two 'here products' (not my words) ASUS plans to launch in Q1 2012 is a surprising 7 inch EEE Pad Transformer tablet.Personally I've always found 10 inch tablets a little bit too bul...
It's surprising that Asus didn't announced or hinted at the Tough ETBW11AA, a rugged 7 inch slate it just launched in Japan together with KDDI wireless carrier. While no confirmation has been made if and when this tablet will make it to the rest of the world, there are reasons we would like to see it here.Let's start with the software: the ASUS Tough ETBW11AA is the first commercial 7 inch tablet with Android 3.2 Honeycomb and a high resolution 1280 x 800 pixels display, more than all othe...
In a move that doesn't surprise anyone, since ASUS is a company that started in Taiwan, they started teasing 'a tablet that jumps at you' for this year's Computex IT show that starts in a few days in Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan. I'm curious how ASUS hopes to approach the tablet market with a new concept, as for me, the motto 'a tablet that jumps at you' is just a way to say 'hey, we're launching our own Motorola Atrix', but maybe I'm wrong.Anyway, the poster below, found on the ASUS o...
Now that I'm back from my vacation let's start strong and catch up with older news as well as going through the latest bits. So here's the latest: in a traditional way, ASUS chose to release a few pictures with closeup details of future tablets that will be released soon, at the Computex Taipei 2011 IT show that starts next week, on May 31st. And since ASUS is a company that started in Taiwan it's normal for them to showcase new products at Computex. There are little details distinguishable ...
ASUS has launched one of the most interesting tablets this year, the EEE Pad Transformer, an amazing slate that transforms to a laptop once docked into a keyboard with its own integrated battery which also increases battery life. Despite that it faces problems with manufacturing due to supply shortage of an unspecified component which effectively leads to only 10.000 Transformer tablets being produced every month. That's considerably less that ASUS' desired 300.000 units, which should be enough ...
We've been talking quite a bit about the ASUS EEE Pad Transformer here as it seems to us one of the best Honeycomb tablets announced in 2011 thanks it its slim, clean design, powerful hardware (see specs and official photo gallery here) and best of all, because of the docking keyboard that also features a battery which extends autonomy to around 16 hours. Now that the EEE Pad Transformer is nearing launch day it's time to take a look at the first lengthy hands on preview provided by the frien...
Remember the ASUS T101MT netvertible from last year? I've tested it here and here and found it one of the best convertible netbooks at that date, despite its early touchscreen accuracy of the pre-production sample I've received. It's still unmatched as price and features are concerned, but the single core 1.66 GHz Atom N450 CPU is starting to feel really antiquated (not that Atoms are modern anyway). That's why ASUS decided it's time for an upgrade of its T101MT small 10 inch convertible tablet ...
