Yes, we’ve talked about the iPad a lot, we’ve seen what it can do, how much it costs but we’ve never talked about where to get it from. Of course you’re thinking at Apple’s own store, but there are a lot of other places to get it from and here’s a little post that will tell you some of the locations where you can buy an iPad from. It might come handy if stocks run out because of the high demand this little tablet caused, with it aggressive ‘propaganda‘ from Apple.

But first, before making the list let’s see the official iPad pricing, as told by Apple. Of course those prices might get down a little in time but I would not want to wait till generation 2 comes around to get my own tablet for 100$ less. Oh, and one more thing, the 3G version of the iPad will be available later this April, so you might want to check out this post once again in a few weeks to get the updated pricing with the new models. Till then here’s the official Apple pricing for iPad and the places where you can find it:

    • Apple iPad WiFi model 16 GB – 499$
    • Apple iPad WiFi model 32 GB – 599$
    • Apple iPad WiFi model 64 GB – 699$
    • Apple iPad WiFi+3G model 16 GB – 629$
    • Apple iPad WiFi+3G model 32 GB – 7299$
    • Apple iPad WiFi+3G model 64 GB – 829$

Those models can be bought from any Apple store all over US of online from their online store (with free shipping). Now let’s see where else can you find the iPad:

As with Buy.com, the iPads found on Amazon.com are a little more expensive than the official iPad retail price, but then again this might be the only way go get the iPad outside US (check the shipping list of the shops selling the iPad through Amazon to be sure). Here are the smallest prices for iPad on Amazon:

First I want to mention one thing: you can’t buy the iPad online from BestBuy.com, you have to get your lazy ass outside and find one of their stores. That’s a small price to pay, but their pricing matches the official one, so here are the product pages from the BestBuy.com website:

They sell the iPad but not at Apple’s pricing. They’re somewhat more expensive. OK, I admit, they’re a lot more expensive, but the tablet arrives in 1-2 business days, which is great if you’re having trouble with the ‘official path’. Shipping tax applies (around 19$). So here’s how much you need to pay to get your iPad:

Looking at those prices is clear to me that you have to pay attention to what you’re buying and where from, as you might get a better deal by just comparing the numbers first and making the purchase later.
