Even it for consumers who bought the iPad things are settling down, for Apple the race continues as they are already working on the next gen device and gadget concepts. As some rumors have stated, Apple had played already with various screen sizes, including 7 inches and, reportedly, 5 inches, which I find too small for a tablet.

Even if this info is just in form of rumor now, we can’t help and wonder if Apple is trying to fill the gap between the 3.5 inch screen of the iPod and the 9.7 inches of the iPad, and also the price leap between the two. If the tablet market growth assumptions are right Apple has all the reasons to try and secure as much market share as possible till big players come stronger from behind. If they play their cards right they might pull off an advantage big enough to keep them on the number one spot for the years to come.
