In the effort to make the iPad a viable new gadget Apple struggled a lot to offer customers content tailored specifically to their product, such as eBooks, moview and digital magazines, which seem to be the key also for classic media survival plan. Of course it will all depend on the price of those digital versions of the print magazines and which new features they will bring to the table, as multimedia is the key thing here, given the almost endless possibilities of the iPad.
Today we’ve found out some of the pricing strategies, which seem to indicate lower numbers then what it asked for the classic paper issue. Wall Street Journal will offers for example monthly digital subscriptions for 17.99$, compared to 29$, Esquire will sell for 2.99$, 2$ less than the shelf price and will include a few music videos, while Men’s Health will sell for the same 4.99$ as its paper sibling. Of course those prices are subject to change, as no one really know how customers will react to the new digital babies, but I bet consumer habits are going to change in a few years.
