If you ask me, the iPad is anything but a business device. This shows that I’m not a good judge, as the business world is welcoming more and more the iPad in their daily lives (read daily work). That’s not me saying it, but an article published by Bloomberg where various business people spell out their work experience with the Apple tablet.

What strike me is that the simplicity of the iPad and its inability to multitask or run serious programs is it’s most important strength to the business world, who cares much about sensible data being protected. So if the iPad can’t store that data means it can’t lose it. What’s the point then, you may ask? Well, the iPad is good enough to view reports, answer to emails, browse the web to read the news plus many custom apps can help with specific tasks. Add to this it’s phenomenal battery life and low weight (important when traveling) and you have a winner.

It’s interesting to see if the iPad will get replaced by more business oriented tablets like the Cisco Cius, or the ones HP, Dell and other big names are about to launch this year. Till then Apple pulls all the strings as the iPad dominates the tablet market thanks to its early launch and good marketing.
