As Apple is nearing the time when it will begin shipping the iPad it’s time to do the news again and see what happened past week to the slimmest tablet of them all. Let’s begin with the way developers are getting access to the iPad:

    1. Suppose you’re a developer that wants to get a preview sample of the iPad. Supposing you get selected by Apple, you have then to sign a 10 page agreement where you say you’ll keep the iPad in a dark room with no windows (or shaded windows), you make sure it can’t be detached (yeap, you have to secure it somehow) and you hide it at night. Also you’re forbidden to tell anyone about it and Apple will ask you from time to time to send photographic proof it’s still in your possession and the above conditions are met – via Engadget

    2. About the deals with TV companies that are supposed to provide content for the iPad, it seem that Apple has some difficulties convincing them to provide shows like The Office, Parks and Recreation out of the box for the iPad customers. They have no problem with books publishers, but newspapers are feeling the same as the TV companies, as they need Flash support to deliver their content digitally. Those are not good news for Apple, as we all know the iPad is nothing without the content to support it – via Crunchgear

    3. Apple has begun accepting apps submission for the iPad into the App Store. If you want your program to be available on 3rd April you have to submit it before 27th March. Then Apple takes a look at it and decides if it wants it or not – via BoyGeniusReport

    4. Samsung will produce 3 millions of the 13 total screens ordered by Apple till now. The rest goes to LG who already has close relationships with Apple for other display deals – via Ubergizmo

    5. If you’re a student gather other 9 colleagues and subscribe for a 10 Pack educational iPad discount from Apple. You’ll pay somewhat less money for your beloved tablet – via Gizmodo
