Remember my post about the best iPad games found on the Apple AppStore at this moment? Well the AppStore is also full of far more useful bits of software, the apps everyone downloads and uses to populate the virtual screens of their iPad. The AppStore is one of the strongest reasons to get an iPad or iPhone/iPod as a popular ad said “there’s an app for that too”, suggesting there are countless ways to extend the functionality of your Apple product by further downloading apps.
It’s clear that the AppStore is also one of the strongest points of the iPad versus other tablets that don’t have an app store behind them. This post is about the best iPad apps you can find on the App store, but it’s not meant as an exhaustive list, but a mere list with some of the top iPad apps you can get right now. You’re welcome to extend this list by adding your own preferences to it. Just leave a comment below with your own favorites and I’ll try and update this article.

But for now this is the list with the best iPad apps:
This is not really a productivity app, but a quiz that determines after a few questions if you’re left or right brained when it comes to how you process information. As already demonstrated by scientists our left hemisphere is logical and symbolic, while our right hemisphere is more intuitive and holistic. Oh, there’s no reason to cheat the test, as there’s nothing you can change.

Are you left-brained or right-brained?
As expected, one of the most popular applications for iPad is the Facebook app, specially designed to be more touch friendly, offering easy access to the most used Facebook functions. You can start a conversation, add new friends, change updates, see what others are doing and share photos from your endeavors. And best of all it’s free.

Skype is for sure the program everybody uses to make long distance calls for free using VoIP. It’s the best integration of video messaging, chat and regular phone calls. Skype needs no introduction so what more can I say about it. As its desktop counterpart it’s free also for iPad.

As the case with Facebook, Twitter’s official app for iPad is in the top of user’s preferences, offering all the tools you need to stay in touch with your followers and the people you follow. In the new version 3.0 search was reorganized, allowing now users to search tweets and users in the same time. Give it a try yourself, if you haven’t already included it in your list of best iPad apps.

If you’re into music you must install the Pandora Radio for iPad, an app that creates automatically a radio station based on your preferences of artists and genres. It then streams automatically music from Internet to your iPad. Pandora Radio is one of the best music streaming apps for iPad right now, despite some complaints about audio quality due to bandwidth restrictions imposed by AT&T.

Even if for most of us, when we want to find out about the weather we just open the windows and look outside, a weather app for iPad is nice to have when you’re planning a trip and depend on climatic condition in your area or the place you’re going to visit. The Weather Channer official app is one of the best ways (and cheapest, being free) to find out it you’re going to need a pull over or a T-shirt before adventuring in the wilderness.

Google does a lot of things, but search is one of the best things they know how to perform. The Google Mobile App for iPad provides users with the option to search the web, contacts, maps, images and news. The Google Mobile App also provides shortcuts to the most important Google services (how else) and is free, like most Google services.

This is one of the best iPad apps to watch trailers, read reviews about upcoming and current box office movies. You can read more about top movies, watch pictures from behind the scenes. You can search for actors, directors and movies, see where’s the nearest theater near you where you can book a ticket and much more. It’s the best iPad app for movie lovers (like me).

Do you guys know the difference between the iPhone and iPad?
These are IPHONE apps.
RE the first app…Right brain/left brain thing was disproved several years ago. It keeps popping up in popular writings, but scientifically it didn’t hold water.
