Apple is clearly one of the few companies that will exit the financial crisis ahead of the competition, after launching very appealing products like the iPhone 4 and the iPad. Now a rumor points towards the possibility of a touch screen enabled iMac that would run both Mac OSX and the iOS (the one found in the iPhone 4). The idea is that Apple doesn’t want to modify OSX to adjust it to touch levels, like Microsoft did with Windows 7 (and kind of failed) so it will include the iOS also in the same package.
This kind of integration of two OSes in one device would allow developers to test their iPad apps in a friendlier environment. If this is the case I highly doubt that the touchscreen iMac will be a mass market product. Why would you want a big 22 inch computer that runs an even larger version of the iPad OS on a higher resolution? Plus I bet your hands will get tired after a few minutes of holding them in the air while working.
We’ll let you know when/if we find out more about this mysterious Touch enabled iMac all in one.
