All-in-One PCs are a special type of gadgets that interest lightweight PC consumers most, as they’re designed to work out of the box, without needing too much time to set up, or IT knowledge for that matter. One of the most interesting All-in-One PCs out there is the Asus EEE Keyboard PC, presented a while ago, that surfaced just now on Amazon for a pretty high 599$.

Before shouting that this is too much, take a little time and look at what Apple is offering: a fully fledged netbook mounted inside a keyboard that’s not too much thicker than your average office keyboard, plus it features an internal battery that’s capable of powering the whole system and the 5 inch integrated touchscreen for around 4 hours.

Below there’s a short video preview with the Asus EEE Keyboard PC, as it was presented at CeBIT last year:

What I don’t get about the ASUS EEE Keyboard PC is how should you be using it away from a true desktop monitor. From the video above is clear that this All-in-One is almost impossible to use without an external monitor. Even the special user interface, on top of Windows XP Home Edition doesn’t help too much, but I must recon that it makes things a little bit more manageable.

Anyway, here’s a better video with a walkthrough of the Asus EEE Keyboard PC and the custom interface that shows how you should really use it as a netbook. It’s clear that the 5 inch touchscreen monitor can be used as a secondary display, making it a nice productivity add-on, but not as the main display:

Anyway, if you want one you can get it now from Amazon for 599$. Let us know how it works if you get one.
